These Terms of Service govern your use of MarkNote (the "Service"), a Markdown editing and preview web service provided by KokomaSoft. By using the Service, you agree to these terms and any additional notices shown within the Service. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
MarkNote is a local-first Markdown editor that runs in your browser. It provides document editing and preview, file and folder management, and optional Google Drive integration for editing files. Available features may vary by browser environment, region, and connection status.
The Service is currently provided free of charge. If paid features are introduced in the future, we will give prior notice and apply separate terms.
You are responsible for the content you create, upload, save, or share through the Service, and you must hold all rights and permissions required for that content. You must not use the Service in violation of laws, third-party rights, or platform policies. We recommend backing up important documents separately.
Documents in app work folders are stored in browser storage (OPFS), temporary drafts in IndexedDB, and app settings in localStorage — all on your own device. Document bodies and file paths are not transmitted to operator servers. Clearing your browser's site data removes this local data.
Google Drive integration is optional, and local editing works without a Google account. When connected, the Service uses Google authorization and the Google Drive API to read and save the Drive files you choose directly. Your use of your Google account and Drive is subject to Google's terms and policies, and the Service's handling of Google user data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You retain the rights to the documents you create. Rights to the Service's trademarks, design, and source code belong to KokomaSoft or the respective owners, and open-source components are governed by their respective licenses (MIT, etc.).
The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or no data loss. You use the Service at your own risk.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, KokomaSoft is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including data loss) arising from use or inability to use the Service.
KokomaSoft may modify or discontinue all or part of the Service with prior notice. If there are changes to features, data handling, or external components, we will update these terms or the Privacy Policy.
When these terms change, we will update the last-updated date on this page.
These terms are interpreted and applied under the laws of the Republic of Korea.
